Glenn Wright, MA

Glen is the course material author for the following courses:

Canadian: Military Records

Glen Wright was born and educated in Toronto, Ontario. He attended the University of Toronto, graduating with a Master's degree in Canadian History in 1972. In June 1975 he joined the National Archives of Canada where for the next 16 years he worked as a government records archivist, primarily in the field of military records.

In December 1991, Glenn accepted a secondment to the Directorate of History, Department of National Defence, and for the next year, he served as Senior Research Officer at the Directorate. Just before Christmas, 1992, he received 'an offer he couldn't refuse' and transferred to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police where he worked as Staff Historian.

Glenn returned to the Library and Archives Canada and presently works as a Research Officer in the Strategic Management Office.

For many years, Glenn has been interested in assisting both genealogists and family historians with their research problems, especially in the field of military records. In the past many years, he has spoken to annual seminars in Ottawa, Kingston and Toronto. He has also appeared at both Regional and Branch meetings throughout the province to speak about military records.
