Marian Press, MLS, MA, is a librarian at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto, where she works in the rapidly expanding universe of electronic access to information. Much of her job involves the teaching of information literacy and online research skills to graduate students. Part of her work involves the building and maintenance of an award-winning web site, Canadian Education on the Web.
She has co-taught a series of courses on Designing and Maintaining Web Sites for the Continuing Education Program at the Faculty of Information Studies, University of Toronto.
Researching her own family history since adolescence, she has now combined her professional work in the world of electronic information with her interest in genealogy, teaching a variety of courses on the Internet and Genealogy for the Toronto Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and writing on the same topic.
Marian brings her vast knowledge and experience to the National Institute with the presentation of the course Creating Your Family WebSite.
Marian maintains the web sites for the Toronto Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and the Ontario Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
