Courses            
 

Various types of courses are available at the Institute. Single courses are available to enhance your knowledge, or a formal education program can be registered. Some courses are credit courses towards Certificate Programs, whereas others are non-credit courses. Some courses have required assignments and exams, others don't. Lots of choice...

To help you meet your objectives, we have prepared several viewing methods. To see a complete list of all our courses, select Alphabetical View. Select Intensive Short Term courses to view courses that are usually 4 weeks in length, Instructor involvement by e-mail and where submitting assignments is optional. To view Certificate Compulsory Courses select the stream of interest.

1Elective courses can be chosen from any course listed in the elective section above. (If you are choosing your elective courses from a previously registered package, and you choose Librarianship courses, an additional registration fee will apply.)

Your total number of compulsory courses plus your total number of elective courses must equal 40 courses if you are in a Country Specific Certificate program. The total number of courses is 12 in the Librarianship Certificate. The number of elective courses may vary by area of studies but is approximately 13 courses. The Librarianship Certificate requires only 2 elective courses. Check in the description area of each certificate for the exact number of elective courses required.

You may choose elective courses from any level. Courses indicated as Basic are suitable for everyone. Courses indicated as Intermediate or Advanced are not suitable for beginners in genealogy. Please consider your personal level of experience when choosing elective courses.
